Erin Bigley is an Account Manager at Sage Communications.

What are your duties in a typical day here at Sage?
Here at Sage, I’m a cat herder. No wait, let me rephrase that – I’m the point person between my clients and Sage. My days tend to vary, but usually consist of communicating with my clients regarding ongoing projects (messaging, websites, videos, logos, brand guides, collateral pieces, banner ads, print ads, etc.) and relaying those messages to the internal Sage team – whether that be the agency’s digital, creative, media, copy development, strategy and/or PR departments. I ensure the right people have all the necessary information to build out their portion of the project. I coordinate all aspects, making sure our work is in scope, on target, in budget and on time. I move projects through their life cycle from beginning to end – always keeping in mind the big picture, and overall marketing/PR plan (so pieces are being completed in the appropriate order). I also assist clients with determining what marketing elements make the most sense for them based upon their goals and additional market research.

What is the most exciting thing you’re working on right now?
I am currently in the final stages of refreshing Leadership Greater Washington’s website and building out their member portal. We built their current site back in 2015 and wanted to give it a fresh take in conjunction with the updated messaging. The portal is a new initiative, to more easily engage LGW members and keep them interacting with each other as well as the organization as a whole. Check out the final product – coming mid-April.

Who inspires you?
My mom does. A few years ago, my dad passed away rather suddenly, and she instinctively stepped in to run our family business – sports bars. She of course had helped with it throughout the years, but never in the capacity required of her at this stage (she quit teaching years prior and became a homemaker). With that said, she didn’t hesitate and dove right in, fearless as always, learning the ins and outs of it all. She hasn’t let a thing slip – and the bars are running even smoother than ever. She reminds me to keep pushing forward and that we are capable of so much more than we realize. If something doesn’t scare you at least a little bit, it might not be worth doing.

What quote do you live by?
“Be kind, for everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.” – Ian Maclaren
…Second favorite quote: “No one likes us, we don’t care!” – Jason Kelce, Philadelphia Eagles, Super Bowl LII Champions

Where is your favorite place to travel?
Anywhere with a beach (and a cocktail) makes me happy! I’m pretty partial to Avalon, NJ and OBX.

What are three things still left on your bucket list?
To be honest, there are way too many things still left on my bucket list. I better get moving!
1. Travel to California (I’ve gone south and east, but only as far west as Chicago)
2. Adopt a dog
3. Skydive

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned while at Sage?
I’ve learned that it is my job to be my clients’ main advocate. As the lead on my accounts, I am an extension of my clients. I have the most knowledge regarding want they really want and need, and have to ensure I translate that to my internal team. Putting myself in my clients’ shoes allows for the team to deliver the best product possible.

In addition, I’ve learned how great the people that work at Sage really are. Everyone has each other’s backs and is willing to step in to help whenever, and however necessary.
