What are your duties on a typical day here at Sage?
My typical daily duties include server and printer management (making sure they’re playing nice), problem resolution, project work (server and workstation maintenance and upgrades) and training.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in an IT role?
Have fun at your job and enjoy working with your colleagues. My dad is fond of telling me “if you love your job you’ll never work a day in your life!”
What is your favorite way to spend Flex Friday? (Sagers work an extra 30 minutes every day to have half days every other Friday!)
Nothing in particular…it’s just nice to be able to enjoy an afternoon off!
What is the most exciting thing you’re working on right now?
All sorts of projects are in the hopper [including] moving our mail service to a cloud-based provider, upgrading Workamajig, upgrading everyone to Office 2016 and evaluating new printers.
Who inspires you?
Professionally, Steve Jobs, I admired his vision and work ethic. Personally, my five-year-old daughter, it’s amazing to see the world through her eyes.
