Employee Spotlight: Brian Bishop

Brian Bishop is Vice President of Brotman Winter Fried (BWF), a Sage Communications company.

What are your duties in a typical day here at Sage?

Having no day be ‘typical’ is one of the enjoyable things about my career working in PR, marketing, events, etc. In all cases, however, dealing with different types of people and personalities from team member/colleagues and clients to vendors and media has always been enjoyable. Typical duties including planning, brainstorming, researching, collaborating and executing tasks on projects.

What is the most exciting thing you’re working on right now?

Right now there’s a lot of planning and researching for upcoming projects, so the “wow” factor is somewhat limited in that regard. Being able to clean my desk and office is pretty exciting!

Who inspires you?

My father and grandfather have always been my major inspirations, both personally and professionally. Each was/is successful in his own right, was/is  happy in life and served as a great role model. Most importantly, each was highly respected and regarded by all those around them with an “everyman” quality that I think has been passed down to me.

What quote do you live by?

You get out of something what you put into it. This works in all facets of life, including relationships, marriage, raising kids, job, success, being happy, etc.

Where is your favorite place to travel?

Tie between New Orleans and Captiva, FL. One for the great history/architecture, fantastic food, drink, music, attitude and people and the other for being a tropical oasis.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned while at Sage?

Think big and go bold. There are many choices that clients have when selecting a professional to advise them in the marketing space. So just like when asking a client what differentiates their product/service from a competitor, we need to always remember to think how we can help and offer them with outside of the box thinking, development and execution.
