John Mills now serves Sage clients as vice president and creative director. He leads creative teams on major strategic marketing campaigns, mentors creative staff members, and helps develop the strategy behind successful creative campaigns. With almost twenty years of experience in advertising, John’s strong communication skills and creativity powered by the understanding of strategic objectives result in effective marketing campaigns for Sage’s clients.
John’s extensive marketing communications knowledge provides Sage clients with on-target programs, delivering highly effective messages that resonate with audiences, meet their business objectives and result in measurable gains.
Prior to joining Sage Communications, John was creative director at SAIC, the Fortune 500 defense and information technology company, where he was the creative lead in branding and brand management for the company. This effort was a first for the then 39-year-old company and included the development of the branding guidelines and visual identity system along with both internal and external integrated marketing campaigns. John also led creative teams on integrated outreach programs for many SAIC clients including several programs and initiatives for the Department of Transportation.
Prior to SAIC, John previously served as art director at Gumas Advertising in San Francisco, California, and at TMP Worldwide in McLean, Virginia, where he served accounts including UK Science & Innovation for the British Embassy, Texaco, San Francisco Giants, Kaman Aerospace, Saab Aerospace, ITT Defense and Electronics, BDM International, Harris Corporation and Northrop Grumman among others.
John holds a bachelor of arts degree in studio art with a focus on graphic design and typography from George Mason University and has won numerous creative communications awards.
